Hey guys, welcome to the first entry on the Jerusalem First Edition D&D club page!
So Gavi came over and we played a game called car wars. Quick rundown follows
We each had 15,000$ to spend on our cars, I chose a "Mini Sherman" with 2 linked machine guns in the front and some generally decent armor.
Gavi went with the "Rocket Special" a beast of a car that has a rocket launcher in the front an a machine gun in a turret on the roof
The scenario we chose to play had our cars moving in the same direction, we rolled to see who was in front, Gavi won the roll, so we rolled again to determine the distance between our cars. So his car was about 70 feet in front of my car. We were both moving at 60 mph.
Now sadly for me, the Rocket Special has a turreted machine gun, so even tho his rocket launcher was in front, he was able to turn the turret and fire it at me.
First round he scored a slight hit, I tried returning fire by shooting his turreted machine gun, this proved to be a bad idea as it was both harder to hit and far away.
Next round, Gavi decelerated his car to 40 mph. For some reason my brains froze up and I forgot he needed to turn his car around to hit me with the rocket launcher, so I sped up to about 70mph.
I moved closer, and Gavi let his Rocket Special drift over a bit to the right, exposing his car's left side to my forward facing machine guns.
Now because I was moving faster, I had the initiative, so I decided to give Gavi's car a new left door courtesy of my machine guns. At this point it suddenly dawned on me that Gavi was slowing down to turn his car around or even worse, get behind me, and all this time I had been speeding up!
So third round starts, and this time I decide to do the only thing left to do, that's right, I sped up. In my mind I figured OK, I"m going to ram into the left side of his car and then fire everything I got.
I was able to get really close, but Gavi got smart and turned the left side of his car away before I could do anything, so I had to settle for smashing into the rear of his car and then firing.
This turned out to be one of those ideas that sounds great on paper, but doesn't really work out when tried, because when I rammed into his car, I didn't just destroy my front armor, I also ended up destroying my machine guns.
Gavi, being magnanimous, offered to truce since I had no weapons left. I, being an asshole, responded by ramming my car into his again.
So at this point Gavi decided to fire his turreted machine gun into the front of my car. Fortunately he missed both me and the cars' power plant and instead blew some chunks into the back door of my car.
I sped up again and rammed into his right side. While this caused him some damage, it caused my car a lot more. Since the front armor was gone, the damage went straight into the car engine (power plant) destroying it utterly. At this point I still had manueverability, but my car was decelerating.
Fifth turn, Gavi turns his car around, getting the rocket launcher lined up. I give him the finger. He fires, misses, and I laugh hysterically. He fires the turreted machine gun, that misses too, I grab a can of beans and throw it at him.
Sixth turn, Gavi linnnnesss up the rocket launcher, and this time, ever so slowly presses the trigger. I take both my hands and give him the universal "kiss my ass gesture" with a giant grin on my face as the rocket goes straight into me and blows me up into a billion charred bits and pieces.
All in all, a fun game.
